Creating a sleep environment that is conducive to baby sleep is so important. This is often one of the very first things I look at before offering any further recommendations. So let's get back to basics.
The perfect baby sleep environment should include the following:
A dark room - Yes this means during nap time too! Darkness allows your little one to begin produce the sleepy hormone- Melatonin. Melatonin is incredibly important to help your little one fall asleep.
White Noise - And continuous white noise at that. Honestly it doesn't matter if your preference is pink noise or brown noise, you do you. So long as you play it continuously for all sleeps! White noise helps create a stable sound environment for your little one to sleep in which means you can go about your day without fear of waking them up.
Temperature between 18-21 degrees Celsius- You might be surprised with this recommendation, but honestly I find this temperature range the sweet spot for babies. Any warmer or cooler and I tend to see more wake ups.
No toys or mobiles in the cot - This is to ensure that your little one is not getting overstimulated by their sleep environment!
